because people like me who deal with suzuki engines day in day out have a larger customer base, not all customers want too do the work, and specialsist probably have far more contacts

In reply to Ian question, the new remanufactured check valves have been produced by a British based company who are specialists in this field and manufacture check valves large and small to many industries which includes the British and European motor industry they also manufacture high quality components for the electronic industry.

Like you, a few of us have reproduced parts for these bikes (Shaun's points covers, my GT750J clock shells, Pete's T500 con rods and bearings, etc) and it often is a thankless experience as the upfront costs are high for small/limited production runs making the unit costs seem high. You are to be commended. I was curious what you suggest for the in-line check valve on the GT750 - just replace the end with s standard valve and leave as is ? Or does yours come apart allowing the internals of the in line one to be replaced ?

As Pete has mentioned, there are a number of engine rebuilders who might be useful contacts for you. Pete is one, but as well in the UK there is Barry Wilkes and I'm sure the Kettle Club could also supply a few names. I can send you some email addresses if you are interested.

as a matter of possible interest to some in the UK, thought I would just say although I specialise in Suzuki 500 twins, I also do any other suzuki's aswell currently doing a GS750, 1 x gt185, 2 x kettle engines, 1 x 380, 2 GT250 and a 550 due in.

CBX1000 on the go, Norton Navigator having total rebuild, RD400 being monoshocked and upside down forks general customisation.

so am a busy little bee lol with 6 500's in and 5 engines, anyone know where I can get 28hr days and 8 day weeks lol

And even small time operators like me need them. I have 4 GT750 project bikes in the shop from a resto-mod through to custom framed reed motor projects and at least 3 of those need at least 1 replacement check valve.

I like the idea but at 11 quid each x 6 plus shipping and labor and shipping the repaired lines back, that comes out to about $175 exchange on a good core.

I think the check valves are more of an issue on the T-series twins. They have a different pump design & have 2 oil lines that split into 4 lines.

I had a T350 where the right-most line would slowly fill with air if you left it on the side stand for a few weeks.
But if you then put in on the center stand it would slowly fill with oil again over a few weeks.
Solved this by installing NOS oil lines for the right cylinder.

At the pricing you mentioned, oil lines for a T-series twin might be $140 with exchange of a good core.
That's cheaper than NOS lines that I've seen recently.

One of the problems with sending to USA or Australia is the cost of the postage £8.90 first class signed for, maybe after xmas if someone in the USA or Australia wants to offer a exchange service IE to fit the valves to customers oil lines they could buy for example 100 valves at a reduced rate and the postage for 100 in a large pack i'm sure would be much cheaper than lots of small packs, also someone changing lots of valves will soon get used to the job which would be much better? i had thought of offering this service myself for UK customer ?
