So hypothetically saying that I blew mine out with compressed air... What should I be looking for when I start it?
If you have ANY doubt, It's worth the effort to remove the octopus once again. Put a banjo bolt in your pocket and go to the hardware store and find a nut that fits it. While you are there, pick up a cheap oil can. If you don't have any alcohol, pick some up while you are out.
Now for each line install the banjo bolt, 2 sealing washers (top and bottom) and the nut. Tighten the nut and banjo bolt together. Fill the oil can with alcohol. Now try to pump the alcohol into the open end of the banjo bolt. I should NOT go. If it flows right on through, that check valve is toast.
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.

Greenmachine, as I posted just before you, I blew my lines out with compressed air.
I set up a test rig this morning with an oil supply, oil pump and all oil injection lines with an electric drill turning the pump. LUCKILY oil seems to be coming out of the banjo bolts just fine.
I guess I didn't screw them up too much with the compressed air.
Don't wait for start up to find out if the the oneway valves are working, set up a test rig
yourself. Pretty simple to assemble, PM me if you like. Start up of the engine is no time to find out that the oil lines aren't working.

If the check valves are good OR bad the oil will flow OUT just fine. Your test proves nothing. You need to test them in the other direction as I described above.

he tried to hijack my thread . oh well. got the bike running and oil lines workin great. it did smoke more from the right pipe, but now it is smokin almot evenly out of both. i guess it just needed to get all the old stuff out of her to get it right. Thing will haul now. Got a little scared when i kicked 2nd and she stood up through 3rd thats about the hardest i think im ever gonna run it. now just been crusin and its a very comfortable bike to ride all day. only issue ive had so far after ridin it is the bowl gaskets leaking(original gaskets). so now its parked. not too upset about it because its been raining off and on for the past 11 days.
Hi guys just to let you all know we in the uk have had some brand new oil line check valves remanufactured have tested a small batch of them out on the road over 1000 miles with no problems and are now having 1000 made which i hope to have on EBAY by the end of NOVEMBER 13 all you have to do is remove your old valves and refit the new , like many others i have had my share of check valve problems,Dave UK
