Over the last few years I have not been as active on this board as in the past, due mostly to the purchase of a bike much less than 40 years old. Although I greatly enjoyed rebuilding, restoring and riding the suzuki 2 strokes, the last smoker related item left my shop last night. Thanks go out to tz375 for ensuring that my collection of bikes, parts and rust did not simply end up in the landfill.
The reason for cleaning house is due to the fact that I start a new job in Charlotte, NC at the end of the month and have a very short time to pack, sell the house and move. A giant pole barn is not in my immediate future so it all had to go.
I want to thank all of you on here who helped by sharing knowledge, parts, or alcohol in the pursuit of keeping these old bikes on the road. I have met some great people through this message board and had some memorable times as well.
I will continue to ride and plan on swinging up to Deals Gap a little more often, just no longer on a 2 stroke.
Thank you again!
John

Re: Goodbye... sort of...
John,
Good luck in NC. Our paths will cross again. For now I'm just sorting and cleaning and rebuilding the Red 750 and the 550. The 750 motor is on the bench for a rebuild so that it is as close to perfect as practical. The 550 needs a crank. I managed to get pistons and a gasket set and carb rubbers. It can wait until the red 750 is complete though.
With all that stuff taking up space, I couldn't find enough of a horizontal surface to put a coffee cup down today, so more sorting and cleaning is needed.
Good luck my friend. Maybe see you at the Gap one of these May times.
