starting work on my GT380

ok so here we go. started to tear her down and clean it up I took lots of pics so her are a few. I sanded the tank down and just put some rattle can paint on for no as I will need to do alittle body work to the tank later

next was the carbs. they were locked up now they are nice and smooth

Nice work! Especially like the brushed look of the aluminum covers vs. highly polished. Would like to see more of your work when completed.

I will post more soon been busy camping and getting ready for bow season. I did a few more parts. Next thing is to pull the motor and clean the block and rebuild at the same time

How do you plan to clean the block (engine case halves)? I've heard great feedback about a vapor blasting service in Minnesota. Vapor blasting is popular in the UK- I see it advertised in many of the vintage bike magazines.

His site isn't active, and I hope he's still doing this- here's a link to pictures:

Wow! :shock: You did an awesome job on the covers! Im also restoring a gt380 and I took a wire brush, scotchbrite, and mothers aluminum polish and still doesn't look as good. :lol:

sorry I have not got back on here at all :oops: but I am ready to pull the motor and hand clean the lower half. I will work it all by hand and get it looking like the side covers :up:
