GT750, how do I get the carbs back on this thing?

Post by J Backlund »

Apparently it's quite the wrestling match, and so far the carbs are winning. What's the procedure to get the carb block back onto those three devilish rubber cylinder head boots?

Thanks for any info on this.

Try some lubricant.... maybe WD40, or silicone spray, or even a bit of liquid soap (like dish liquid). Don't get carried away with it, just "a little dab 'il do ya."

Thanks. I've tried WD40 and still it's a no-go. I asked this question elsewhere on the forum and the consensus was that my carb boots are very stiff with age and it's past due to just replace them with a new set of softer, more compliant boots, so I ordered a set from a Japanese ebay seller. Hopefully, they'll get here in a week to ten days and I can continue the fight to get this old girl back on the road.
