She runs!

Carbs all cleaned up

Sportster shocks I'm going to try out (basically free)

The front springs are shot, so I'm throwing in some cheap progressive springs for now and some fresh oil & new seals.

Another update before I leave to Costa Rica for my bachelor party 8):

Harley shocks installed
Image

Avon tires on, and brake caliper is getting rebuilt and ill spray it black.
Image

Chain and sprockets are on
Image

Progressive springs are on and forks refreshed with new fluids, new rear brakes.
Image

She's almost done
Image

Just need the front brake master cylinder, new air filter, and a few odds and ends and she should be good to go. All the other stuff is cosmetic.

Just got back from bachelor party, it was sick. And the best part is I had a bunch of packages waiting for me when I returned.

Received a new headlight, headlight brackets, NOS gas cap, Nissin master and the mechanic has the new lines sitting in the shop. The bike is now registered and insured and with a beautiful Antique Florida plate. The bike should hopefully be out this week.

Here's the last things going on the bike, it should be ready and done by this weekend.

I am looking to contribute and learn and lot from you guys, I love this little bike already and I have never ridden it. Ill have a few questions from you all, but will make sure I search first. Cheers.
Welcome aboard,I have your bikes "big brother" GT750A,I've had lots of Suzuki's over the years, including a T250R 1971 model. What you are looking at in the cylinders is the result of a blown crankcase seal/seals, all that oil is gear box oil, mixed with two stroke oil!!! I guess you were going to rebuild the motor in any case! Good luck with the restoration, these are nice little bikes, & go very well. 8) Cheers

Almost done with the bike, I ordered a custom steel braided line from HEL that is too long (made for the stock bars), but ill just wrap it on one side of the headlight. Still need to bring the headlight up a bit and I will be going back to the original bars. These bars are supposed to be flipped down but they are too close to hitting the tank IMO and this bike is for my lady so ill let her get used to the stock bars first and then get some clip ons with risers. All I need is to install the line and bleed the brakes and the Hustler should be done, still need to polish more and paint the foot pegs, the bike will be ridden this weekend (hopefully if the weather holds).

Bike dies in a few minutes. Battery is brand new, seems there's a charging system issue.

I'm guessing stator, or something, this blows, I wanted to ride it today so instead I took out the SV1000S.

That does blow. I have a mint 75 Gold GT250, but a couple weeks ago I bought a rusty, dirty, dented 74 GT250 for a few hundred bucks and with no battery just new gas it started right up this afternoon after a couple dozen kicks and I rode it around for 1/2 hour to get the juices flowing. Running like a champ after many years of no love at all.

Very nice man! Great find. As you can see this bike was super neglected.

Bike is done, too bad I cannot ride it just yet. I will post daytime photos eventually.

The bike needs a few more odds and ends like polishing, a better cleanup, new seat, and a couple of other goodies. But it is perfectly rideable and ready to go!

Rode the bike today for the first time, wow feels great, but it is running very rough.

It turns on with the first kick (choke on) then when I take the choke off after a good 30 seconds to a minute it idles very low, I have to give it a bit of gas to clear it up, then when I take it for a spin, its bogs on the low end, then the power kicks on hardcore and almost lifts the front wheel. While riding it up and down the block sometimes it rides perfectly, and others it just hesitates and the RPMS keep going up and down. I wonder what the issue is, I'm guessing carb, air or spark related but cannot diagnose. I leave the country for my wedding this Monday, at least it feels very solid and planted, just need to get it running right. I ended up flooding it a few times as it would just turn off, but I guess its just the temperament of 2 strokes, just need some fine tuning.

Bike is running perfectly now.

Had a very well known local japanese mechanic take a look at it and fix the little issues (carb, plug & timing related), mentioned crank seals are looking good.

Looking forward to my fall rides. Time for polishing! Cheers!
