electronic ignition gt750
Hi i was looking into electronic ignition for my gt750, I was looking at the newtronics kit , and then I saw a dyns-s system that was cheaper, my question is which one is better????

I thought Dyna-S only did ignitions for 4-stroke bikes?
The Newtronic system is popular here in the UK, I've no experience with it myself.

I have Newtronic ignition and it is simple to fit and works well, wouldn't think twice about buying another one.

Thanks for the input, I found dyna-s electronic systems for the gt750, i didnt know they made them either, so i was wondering if anybody has any experience with them, the system cost $150.00 u.s., which is cheaper than the newtronics system, but which one is better? I need to replace my points and i noticed that one set has a hole burned in it, the condensor must be bad so i started looking for points and condensors then i ran across the dyna-s system, do most of you guys run electronic or points? i have never ran electronic so i dont know what their down falls are?

You have currently four commercially available electronic ignition systems available that I know of for non-racing applications - there could be more:

- - the Newtronics you've already found which gets good reviews
- - a unit from Boyer Bransden which some folks don't care for, but which does work very well
- - the Accent unit out of Germany which is (I think) the tidiest as everything fits under the points cover - no black boxes to hide anywhere and no hacks to your wire loom
- - Marcel's unit out of NL

Eddie, are you sure that Dyna-S is not for a GS750? It appears to only have 2 reluctors. I am electrically handicapped, but that doesn't look like it would work on ANY triple.
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.

I seem to remember an article by TZ375 on another forum about modifying a Dyna-S set-up for use on the GT triples, it involved modifying the baseplate and adding another pick-up. Over at Tim's CBX site there's an article about a set-up for CBX1000s which will have the right number of pick-ups ...

The pic that I posted was from the bike bandit, if you go to bike bandit then go to Suzuki gt750 , then electrical, then electronic modules it has this dyna s system listed , and it's listed for the gt750 , I was thinking the same thing about the pick ups, it looks like only two , but I did read an article about the dyna s system being used and it just replaces the points.

If you want to do some reading, you can search on this board, and as well Richard (TZ375) wrote about some options on his site here, and I wrote about my own installs here and here.

Bike Bandit do list it at $166 but it's not listed at Dynaonline.com, so I suspect that it's an error. It would be a good idea to call both Dyna and Bike Bandit to see what is up. Ask BB what the Dyna part number is and cross check it against their site.
Or call Tim the tool man at Tim's CBX and see if he can sell you one of his set ups but you need to know what the OD of a CBX backing plate is, or will have to make an adapter plate to mount it.
