T350 carb repair

Post by jabcb »

T350 carbs don't use a brass guide pin to orient the slides. They have a larger guide that looks to make of a plastic-like material.

There isn't much left of the guides on my T350. Any tips on replacing them? Or do I need to find carb bodies with good guides?

I'd have to see with a photo how the present guide is put into the carb but I'm sure an alteration can be made up to replace it.
Two strokes, its just that simple.

Think I have a lead on reasonably priced replacement carbs.
I'll post the pics if it doesn't pan out.

Replacement carb did not pan out.

Pic of slide guide from the outside:

Pic of good slide guide on different carb:

left carb is the one with the bad guide. Spare carb with a good guide is unfortunately a right carb.

I am think about using this tool:
T350_BadCarb_Tool.tiff
Would insert one of the prongs from the outside of the carb, JBWeld it in place & cut off the excess.
Wouldn't look that great but it wouldn't be noticeable since it would be on the right side of the left carb.

Any suggestions on how to fix the guide?
