First ride of the year

Post by Craig380 »

At last, a decent dry day. Battery charged, everything checked over, bike wheeled out after a 3 month hibernation.

Half a dozen priming kicks then ignition on, another kick and she bursts into life like she'd only been resting for a week. A couple of gentle miles to the petrol station, then out onto the open road. The tacho needle swings up to 5,000, the engine note hardens from a contented drone to an excited shriek and she pulls like a dog spotting a rabbit. Boy, does she feel and sound good. Here's to a great year.

It's getting near that time to brush off the cobwebs.......

First time I ride the R1 after a winter break, I can't help but wonder how the hell machines that do that can be sold and purchased perfectly legally.

This is why 380s are good -- all the weight of an R1 but a quarter of the power :)
