out of a job now!!

Post by johnakay »

as some you may know I took this job on a couple of years ago working part time as a carer,
just heard a sad news that my sister's husband has passed away this morning.
he had Alzheimer's for the last 6 years.
I knew last night while getting him cleaned up that he was on his last legs.
knowing that he was going to pass away doesn't make it any easier thats for sure.
at least he's not suffering any more and my sister can get her life back.
she was more or less house bound for the last 3 years.
thankfully time is a good healer.
we all just got to think of my sister now.
If I wanted to make a life-long career out of
working with the mentally retarded I would
have opened a Harley Davidson Dealership

thanks guys.
I'm more concerned for my sister than I am of myself.
it doesnt make it any easier I know when you know that sooner later he will be gone.
my sister is 70 years old and strong willed and has a mind of her own.
as you know you'll still need your family around at a time like this.
with me being the youngest@60 in the family, this is bound to happened.
time is a good healer and we'll all get over this sadness and in away I'm pleased not just for my brother in law but now my sister has her freedom.
its sound awfull doesn't it but its true.
once again thank you all for your kind words. john

I know a little of what you are going through. I am 54 and had been helping my mother who was in a nursing home. She had just turned 90 October 3rd, then two weeks later died just two feet away from me. My sister is 68, in good health so she is taking it pretty good. Sometimes it is very hard when losing a close family member, my condolences to you and your family John. It will get a little better in time.

the funerals is this thursday .
hope all goes well for my sister.
once that is out of the way, we can all try and get on with life.
it all seem to have gone so quick.
I have been helping my sister for nearly 3 years now.
poor lass she suffers with brittle bones and has a slight curved back theres a name for it but I cant remember whats its called.
because of that I took over to showering him etc.
she was struggling to bend down and getting up.
credit to these folks who do it full time.
I know I couldn't do it to a stranger,washing private bits etc.
anyway thanks to those who wish my family well etc.

this pass 7 years I must have been to more funerals than I've had hot dinners ,well it seems that way.
just before Xmas we went to one our friends wife funeral. john
