Re: What year, and why the hell...?
If you knew the Vin numbers off the frame it would tell what yr the bike is , the front end could have been swapped out from some reason including crash damage .
the older i get the faster i was

Re: What year, and why the hell...?
In Denmark the registration year is often different than the model year, my T350J was registered as a 74 but is a 72. Even seen a T350J registered as a 75 mod.
Could it be that Denmark got deliveries of last years model to keep the cost down since the the tax on cars and motorbikes are quite high in Denmark, or is it that sales was slow and the bikes didn´t get registered until they were sold?
Also an interesting thing about older suzukis in Denmark is that none of them seems to have the original paint...

Re: What year, and why the hell...?
No. The gaitor forks have external springs under those boots. The gages appear to be from a 74 or later. 72 and 73 had the high beam lamp and the turn signal lamp in the tachometer.. It looks like the bike might be a bitsa. Bits of this and bits of that.Could i just Remove the rubber and No one could tell the difference?
72 thru frame # 21779
73 # 21780 thru # 36265
74 # 36266 thru # 47118
75 # 47119 thru # 61314
76 # 63135 thru # 70363
77 # 70364 and up
These are the frame numbers NOT the engine numbers. Frame number is located on the right side of the steering neck.
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.

Re: What year, and why the hell...?
The GT550 does not have the external springs under the boots like some of the others do. The forks are from a 73K model.. So if the boots are removed, it is just a smooth fork tube, like the later 74 and up versions.. But you would need to put a dust cover over the seal.. The airbox, and guages are of 74 and up, so its possible someone changed the front forks out at one time to the earlier set..Coyote wrote:No. The gaitor forks have external springs under those boots. Good luck..
