Hi guys!
Been peeking around for a wile now and I really like your forum.
I'm Bert, from Belgium and 24 years (old/young).
I got a gt/t500 a while back and I just cant figure out what it is,
Here's a photo (or3):
I don't know what's about with these reflectors on the fork and there is a gt500 badge on the oil tank but a normal 500 badge on the left side. there's red under the spreycan black.
It was a gift from a friend of my father because he was clearing his garage.
I hope you guys can tell me more about her and what's not original on this bike
(edit): I also got an other one in parts with 2 motors, gonna make that one for the track.
The major obvious difference is that the T500 had a front drum brake, while the GT500 had a single front disk. Looking more closely the T500 has points while the GT500 has electronic pointless ignition.
thanks Roger and Dron!
I was side-tracked by the chassis tag, it said t500-2 and I tought it should say gt500.
curious case that bmw, it's not a bmw! the po put the bmw stickers on. It's an EMW.
if you want I can get some info on his other bikes he also has 2 bsa's and 2 laverda's 500.
you can see a part of one of the bsa's behind the gt.

I'm from limburg (south), I saw you website a wile back.
seems like a fun group, but seems a bit mellow for my driving style
I may have to take you up on that offer
on the bsa's: it's a A10 and a B30
and the laverda's aren't 500's they're 750 sf from the 70's
and today I found 2 indians and a harley in a corner.
it appears you have a GT500 with a handful of T500 parts. The vin number on GT500 still reads T500 instead of GT so that is normal. From the pics, the T500 parts I can see are the left side cover, turn signals, magneto / stator cover and speedometer. The tank, seat, gauges (except for that speedo), and front end are definitely GT500.
Its possible someone may have installed a T500 motor also, into your GT500. Easiest way to tell is to pop off that left eng cover and see it its got points or not. GT500 was electronic ignition.
Also the taillight bracket does not appear to be factory to a GT or T. Altogether, looks like someone took 2 bikes and made one bike from the parts.
