It's a generic replacement, my bike has one and it's thin and flat compared to the original ones.

As Barry says, its a generic version suitable for all models and so will have the notch for the seat lock used on the later models, the wrong logo stencilled on the rear for the J model, wrong seat pattern as well as not having the stainless steel seat trim. On the other hand,if you don't have a seat then it will be more comfortable than having to sit on the bare frame rails :wth:

If your seat pan and trim is decent you can get a repro sponge and cover.

all i have is this king and queen seat........got anyleads on a good pan?

i bought a seat from a junkyard. it is a rigid fit,no latch has diamond stitching and just suzuki screened on the back. it looks very similar to my gt550 72 only mine has a latch. maybe this is the 72 gt380 seat?

also...........i thought that the 72 had a rigid fit seat,no latch. but my king and queen is latched, and the frame has a welded latch bracket. ahhh!!!

found my answer :
"The seat pans are interchangeable between 1972 and 1973, and very nearly interchangeable for all years. There was no seat lock – a thumb latch was used – so early pans to be used on a later model need to be modified in the area of the seat lock. Later pans to be used on a 1972 or 1973 ideally need to be filled in where the seat lock cut out is located. The seat covers in 1972 and 1973 had a distinctive diamond pattern as seen to the right, with a one piece polished stainless steel surround trim (with no seat lock gap) and “Suzuki GT” was silk screened on the back."
