The 72 GT380 & 72 GT550 have the same front axle & axle nut. The part numbers are the same.
Does that mean you can mount a GT550 front wheel & double drum brake on a GT380?

I think if you do a little more research, you'll probably find that the 380 hub and brake panel are different from the 550 items.
The factory probably made up the difference in hub/panel widths with different spacers and, maybe, speedo drives, so it MIGHT be possible to make a swap.
