Hi all,
I am progressing with the tidy up of the big girl. I'm just wondering what the correct style mirrors are for the J model Buffalo. My parts book seems to show two different style mirrors. One is part # 56500-31010 and it listed as "opt" whilst the other is 56600-31010. Beside both entries, the book lists 1 as the quantity - I guess they only came out with one as standard ?
So are both styles "correct", are they for different markets or ...?
Thanks for any help,
Mike

Mike - the 56500-31010 is for the right hand side, and the 56600-31010 is for the left. Other than that they are the same style, originally both would have had the 'S' embossed on the rear of the mirror housing. All models were equipped with two mirrors. For the J and K models, I haven't located any other region specific part numbers, but later models did have regional differences with Australia and France being two that I've been able to confirm.

Thanks for that Ian. I got abit confused as in the schematic, the left and right mirrors look to be different styles. I wasn't sure if there were two types as one is classed as "opt" (which I took to mean optional) or whether they just did a poor drawing of the left side one in the parts book.
Given my bike had a none too picky P.O. I thought I'd check - should they be 8mm or 10mm screw ins?

The 'J' originally was 8mm, but best to check - if they get stripped often they are re-tapped as 10mm.
