I have a set of BS carbs (GT750) that have disassembled for about 3 years. I was messing with them a while ago and the diaphragms seem to have shrunk. They won't fit back into the groove. Can anything be done about this?
Also have a stuck pilot jet wirh the screw slot stripped off. Do they make ez-outs that small?

Re: BS carbs
I went to the hardware store and bought a #1 ez-out. I drilled about 3/16' into the pilot jet with a 1/8" drill. Then I tested to make sure the ez-out was going to grab it. It all looked good so I proceeded the heat the area with a propane torch. When I was certain the surrounding aluminum was going to melt, I put down the torch. I screwed in the ez-out (using a tap handle) and SNAP, it came right out
Now guys, what can I do about the shrunken rubber on the diaphragms?

You are one lucky man, normally the small EZ-outs break off leaving you with another PITA problem you wish you didn't have.
Theres no real way to fix the shrunken rubbers, either scour ebay for some good used ones or buy new ones.

Two strokes, its just that simple.

I know what you mean. Those cheap Chinese look-Alikee's will snap off in a heart beat because they are 'too' hard. This was a USA made item and was relatively expensive at $3.00. But it worked and that makes it priceless.

Re: BS carbs
I've never had any luck with the ez-outs either the spiral type or the square shank ones, but then again its always been an old rusty steel bolt in an aluminum part I'm trying to remove, which is usually fused in there.
This is the worse type of removal since there a fusing of dissimilar metals involved and its a bad situation from the start. However you do get really good at drilling precisely and then picking out the thread perimeter remains and chasing it with a tap.

Re: BS carbs
You might try putting them in some gas as i know gas can make some of these rubber parts swell ?
