Now, at 55, I seem to have lost all basic spannering capabilities

Dropping the wheels out of the T500 for rebuilding, rear came out fine, spindle draws out by hand...... but the front!!

The spindle is stiff, and moves only with gentle hammer taps on a socket extension. Fine, but the only extension I have with a sufficiently small bore is just too short to drive it all the way out

Any tips? i.e. a ready-made bit of household gubbins I can use as a drift?
