Thanks for posting those, John, great stuff. Although one word of caution: the performance figures from Bike magazine should be taken with a pinch of salt .... at least to within half a second either way.

The former editor, Mark Williams, has said that their 'timing gear' for standing quarter figures consisted of:

a) 440 yards measured using an architect's measuring tape

b) a guy with a stopwatch at the 440 yard mark. The rider would flash the headlight when he was ready, then the stopwatch guy would listen out for when the rider dumped the clutch :lol: :lol: :lol:
