Sad memorial to a restored GT750

Per seller's description, he listed a restored GT750 for sale on eBay but ended up parting it out on eBay. From the picture, looks like it was really nice.

Shame to see another nice GT750 bite the dust. But can't blame the owner, especially in this economy, and especially in Ohio.

Perhaps those of us that have the resources should pay a little more attention and try to save more of the nice original & restored bikes, even if we don't really need them.

That guy seems to do that to a lot of nice / restored old 2 stroke suzuki's. I guess he figures he can make more money from them that way, and probably does. I've also noticed about 3-4 different ebay user names all selling restored, or new, or NOS suzuki 2 stroke parts, from northeast OH. They all have slightly different, but very lengthy, complicated terms and conditions, and a very short, or non-existent description of the actual item for sale. I suspect they may all be the same person.

Looking at the picture of the "restored bike", it didn't look complete. For example, non-stock paint, missing decals and badges. Missing radiator end caps and so on.

I'd speculate that people looking for a fully restored bike would see it as a partially completed project and those of us looking for a project bike are always wary of anyone else's work, so it may have found itself in no man's land. It's a shame of course, but if it allows other projects to completed, maybe the net result is positive.

The pipes have to be worth what he was offered for teh complete bike....

He has 7 ebay user names if it has cleveland ohio watch out he will RIP YOU OFF, will say anything to make a sale, has a real nasty attitude sent me a part that didn't look like the picture when I questioned him about it he acted dumb, had to use ebay to get my money and still got ripped off because of high shipping and handling. I was talking to a rider with a nice t500 had a real nice set of exhaust pipes accept one of the pipes was peeling, he said he had bought them from a ohio seller, they were show chrome it was the same person, if you ask the seller a question ask through ebay, he will not answer back through ebay but through his personal email that is so ebay doesn't see what he said when you have a dispute. If he was honest he wouldn't have to use 7 different user names.

Its likely that there are situations where a reasonable eBay seller has established a good reputation, which later gets tainted by someone taking advantage of that by using similar name/location to rip people off.

Not knowing any of the details, perhaps this might be the case with the 7 eBay users you are referring to. Maybe some of the 7 are reasonable while the others should be avoided.

a few of the user names are: justvintagestuff09, internationalshipper2010, cyclekhaos, jrwdfanot. (that one's kinda funny) There are others but i can't think of them.

I have bought a couple things from him, but you have to be very careful. His descriptions suck, he usually doesn't answer emails, but sometimes he does. Shipping will be VERY slow, and excessively overpriced. If you buy more than 1 item, he will refuse to combine shipping, or even ship out the 2nd item until after you receive the 1st item AND leave him positive feedback. If you have any problem with the transaction for whatever reason, tough sh*t. Its a gamble, but he does have some hard to find parts from time to time.

I guess its possible there may be multiple people from the Cleveland / northeast OH area selling restored & NOS suzuki 2 stroke parts, but just seems unlikely.

The whole thing sounds fishy to me. When someone's listings are a story instead of a description, and most of the listing contains their own rules for how they expect things to work - or explain their recent negative feedback - I stay far, far, away.

Unlikely ?? I'd say the odds are astronomical....
2 maybe....or even 3 at a stretch....but SEVEN ??
I guess some bottom-trollers are still proving PT Barnum correct.

he is not the only one doing it. There is a person not far from me that does the same thing altho he shows good on ebay he is a real lier. I bought my gt750 from him. It was partially my fault i had just had surgery on my leg . I couldnt make it down the hill to see it so i sent my brother who does not know about bikes. he came back up told me if it comes up your going to have to take it. When he put the add on cl said it was an unmolested bike looked real good in the picture. It should have he did everything in his power to make it that way even painted the spokes with aluminum paint. He said the former owner ran the wrong oil in the injection and it blew up. I asked the miles on it he said 12k and it had never been wrecked I noticed in the pic the airbox was off asked him if he had it he said yes. In the pic it even had a key in the ignition . He loaded it up and filled the paperwork out. Then he told me. He did not have the key but he put a new ign switch and helmet lock under the seat was not happy about it but i said ok. After everything was done i asked him if he knew the guy that lived in his town that had the ebay store he said it was him. The other person that went with my brother he showed his basement it was packed full of gt750 parts motors and shelves for all different parts. I was starting to get Leary but already paid him and got the paperwork. I got home got it unloaded. Spent 10 min checking it out this is what i have found so far. He swapped out the pipes the right outer has road rash on the back corner of the pipe almost ground thru the metal and the baffles are gone. pegs dont match but no roadrash anywhere else grips ect. He cut the upper hose Did a nice job making it like like it wasn't cut All the head bolts are loose the exhaust rings were painted with aluminum paint 1 bolt broke off in the head. Rear fender has been changed this one is tweaked bad he cleaned the fender with a brillo pad up under the seat where you couldn't get to it without pulling it off. The grab bar is gone seat latch is gone. The serial number on the motor does not fit the bike starts with a 6 and the bike is a 75 the brake hoses and mc have been changed brake fluid all over the m/c from putting the cap on when the res was overfull. The bleeders are loose with fluid coming out of the metal bracket for the hose wasn't bolted on the guage cluster is loose the speedometer was on 0 in the pic it shows 45 in the garage now. Missing 1 motor mount bolt and 1 crashbar bolt Tach cable was off. and more. I looked in the box with the airbox in it was just a shell no inners no boots no chrome cover to get at the air filter. Also noticed the oil pump rod was gone the carbs had some black paint on them no telling if they are good I wrote him back after i found this told him i was not happy his reply was its a restoration project and i could bring it back if i wanted he knew i rented the trailer between 2 trips and 2 trailer rentals it wasn't feasible for me. Good unmolested bike my butt. I am committed to it now just going to take a lot longer

Some other sites are bikebarn61, vintagecyclebits and one that real close to paul millers site name, he blacklist you if you give him less than 5 stars which is ok with me ( once burned twice shy) if you buy from him he is adding on the 10% ebay fees on top of the final bid plus shipping and handling you pay for everything so it doesn't cost him anything, he vaguely tell you this (somthing like all fees included in the final price) you can dispute this with ebay since he's not disclosing those fees. He uses terms on his sites like bought out a dealer and selling inventory, cleaning out the garage, I have these leftover from a project, he's actually a bike salvage yard trying to get top dollar for his parts not just someone trying to sell some parts. You're better off not buying from this guy, I won't be back not worth it.

I forgot about his extra fees. He will also try and charge EVERYONE a 10% sales tax, no matter what state or country you live in, on both the purchase price and the shipping cost. You think he ever actually submits that "tax" to the state?? (oh state law says sales tax should be charged at 7% of the purchase price only, and only for items shipped to or picked up in the state of ohio).

I believe Paul Miller uses several different user names also. I've noticed about 3 different users selling Suzuki NOS / dealer buyout inventory, all located in CT within about 20-30 miles of each other. Hmmmmm.....
His main one being the jrwdfa (or something like that), another being vjcthree, and i've seen another but don't remember it.

Paul may have legitimate reasons for having them though. Feebay (oops, i mean ebay) has been known to screw people around, where its not a bad idea to not keep all your eggs in one basket ( or account ).

Don't know much about the eBay sellers in Ohio. Have purchased lots of NOS parts from Paul Miller via his jrwdfa account, and always had good results.

Seems that charging incorrect sales tax is a big no-no. Few years ago I heard about a company in Pennsylvania that charged incorrect taxes -- they ended up having to issue refunds to their customers.

Some eBay sellers charge pretty steep shipping fees. Definitely need to look at the total cost when buying stuff via eBay.

Another interesting option can be your local bike shop's online order system. Have noticed that bike shops have different prices for NOS parts ordered via their website & their parts counter. Sometimes the cheapest option has been ordering online via a local dealer for pickup at their shop. Avoids shipping costs but you pay sales taxes. Has been my experience that NOS OEM parts show up quickly, but aftermarket parts can take a really long time.
