Motor City Powersports show that rod to be available. Go here and click the second item on the left (oem perts). From there, navigate to your bike.

so aside from the fact that I have not been posting all winter I am having some good progress. Im having trouble finding a part for the oil pump. The small piece which attaches the throttle cable to the oil pump seems to have gone missing. anyone know where I can buy one, or have one lying around? thanks for the help i'll put some pics up once i get the tank painted

If it is part # 5 in this screenshot, you can still get it. Go to the dealer with the part number shown. Don't bother to tell them what it is as they will automatically tell you it's obsolete. The entire circuit is computerized now. All they have to do is punch in the part number to show availability.

Re: 1972 Suzuki t500-looking for a little direction
Got the back up and running. It seems to have trouble keeping a good idle. It sounds strong and then after about a minute it will stall if I don't give it any throttle. Also if I rev the throttle it takes a while before the rpm's will drop back down. Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem could be?
