TR750 WATER PUMP DRIVE

Post by kekems »

Hi evrybody ,
i am new on this forum
i start to build a Tr750 replica and collecting info's and pics i have obviously more questions than answers
i remarked on works engine pics that the waterpump driving system is quite different compared to the stock.
it seems that the starter gear crank side is running a new all metal water pump gear.
on a ratio close to 1to1
Does anybody has kwowledge about that ?
Marc

TR750 had the two crank ends on the opposite sides. The old Alternator end is moved to the left to drive the self generating ignition and the old points/pump drive side is moved to the right side and machined off.

So it used a different steel gear to drive the water pump. I have seen pictures of a TR motor with s GT nylon gear and with a steel gear, but in both cases the gear on the crank is a unique TR part which fits behind the ignition rotor.

Barton motors used a short drive shaft with its own gear and that drove the Krober ignition in a new left cover.

I'd like to see a parts list for a TR750

thanks TZ
i assume i will have to deal with the stock system that i will lightend a lot as i have seen on this forum.
i intend to switch ignition on the right side while using the gearing layout of the waterpump on the left side.
is this possible without switching the crank ends?

If you use a light system such as say a fully programmable Ignitech, it could go on either end. If you fit say an HPI or electrexworld self generating system it's designed to fit on the right side with a stock crank right end I think.
