Hi all, thought I'd post some pics as a way of introducing myself.
The GT(The Bitch) I bought in '88 as a one owner with 37,000kms (23,000m), she now has 420,000kms (261,000m) and is very tired. The origonal motor done 320,00 kms before it hand grenaded in a big way, junked the entire motor. Current motor came out of a non running wreck I bought for parts, a change of carbs and it fired up. Unfortunately an "expert" with a die grinder has "tuned" it and is a real pig to ride compared to the stock motor. Now in semi retirement while I accumulate the bits she needs for an overhaul. Due too limited income I'm looking at possibly 18 months to collect everything.
Last night after replacing the steering head bearings
Bought the DL (SnowQueen) 21/12/2010 as the new ride for us. Our requirements were comfortable seat with plenty of room for both of us, low pillion pegs to be comfortable, large tank and good economy, reliability, and had to be a Suzuki .
The night we picked her up
Same corner 13 years apart, Mt Buller, Victoria, Australia.

Re: My bikes.
Steve, Welcome. Did you say 320 thousand klicks on that poor old GT750. That is amazing.
Good to see another Aussie on here. Where are you from? I'm guessing one of the outer burbs or down the peninsular.

Mooroolbark, outer east.
Yes 320k was put on the origonal motor. These things are over engineered, & it's amazing how far you can nurse something when you have no money (ex wives are expensive). Also I've never had a car license, so the bike is used everyday. After 22 years of ownership the miles do mount up. I know a bloke that has a Honda 750F2 with more than 600,000kms on it, iirc it's only on it's 2nd motor.

Re: My bikes.
I lived in and around Melbourne for many years including Eltham and Geelong. Still have two sons in the area.
Those are impressive mileages. Of course you can ride all year round and we can't up here in the Midwest. I used to prefer riding in winter when it was cooler. Summer was a touch too hot as a rule.

Re: My bikes.
Good eyes Mark, I'd forgot they used to be on there, don't have them anymore. I ran 55 watt globes in them okay, but twin 100s would not work.
