T125 resto. Rusty pushes through.

Post by F5 »

Gee I hardly come here but its been a great resource. In fact I joined years and years ago, not sure I remember if I've posted here before.

So I started my T125 project 8 or 9 years ago, bought an incomplete race bike and then a rusty wreck with nothing salvageable on it. Turns out the race(and I use that term loosely) was a T90 so I couldn't register that as a 125 so I had to resurrect the Rusty bike.

8 years goes by with only a few parts collected.

So bad racing accident and now I have some time on my hands.

Wonder if I have some pics on the tablet?

OK Lets look.

Hmm this site is a bit unfriendly to photo sizes and they are hard to edit on the tablet. This might be the lamest restored thread.

OK let's hurry this along.

Blah blah blah, took everything to bits.

Blah blah, bought some new bits.

And painted some other bits.

That's it so far. Try imagine what that looks like.

Sorry, kinda lost the motivation.

This is a free site. The downside of that is the server doesn’t have any more room allocated for storing uploaded images.

To post images here, you need to upload them to a photo sharing site, like Photobucket, and then include image links to those pics in your post here.

Maybe this pic I found via a Google search will help inspire you.

Still no photo acct, too much hassle, but just in case someone is searching for
T125 stinger main bearings
I found some genuine NTN um. . . , 6204N\52D bearings

Mana bearings in New Zealand sourced them from a bearing warehouse in Australia which apparently had a bunch. Why they had them I have no idea, they are oversize OD with circlip and retention pin hole.

In the assembly stage. Aiming for Christmas for start up.

A light break and back into it. We have sparks after disassembly of the ignition switch and some replacement points.

Some newer pipes showed up which will lessen the work required to mix and match sections of the manky ones I had.

Heck might even try start it up this weekend. Will be first time in 35 years going from the registration sticker.

All the tanks have a bit much Patina, which I think means damage and rust, but I have 1 good donor with dodgy paintjob that needs to become Gold.

I'd swapped a paintjob for some prepayment about 10 years ago, have to se if painter mate remembers that. But he keeps doing small jobs and refusing money so perhaps not mention it.

Where did I leave those decals I wonder?
