I don't know if this has been posted before, but while looking through my GT380 info I came across the following list of crankcase cover screws that I thought may be useful to anyone wanting just the odd screw rather than a full set.

Clutch Cover (6mm Phillips)
3 x 20mm
4 x 35mm
2 x 80mm

Generator Cover (6mm Phillips)
4 x 30mm

Sprocket Cover (6mm Phillips)
2 x 45mm
3 x 85mm

Sprocket Outer Cover (5mm Phillips)
1 x 16mm
2 x 35mm

Points Cover (5mm Phillips)
3 x 50mm

Oil Pump Cover (5mm Phillips)
1 x 16mm
2 x 35mm

And this is specific to the GT380 ? If so, then perhaps we can get the title amended to include that fact and this could be moved to the 'Restoration' section as a sticky. Just send 'scorch' a PM as I can't do that. 8)

I noted in my parts book all the sizes of fasteners as I dismantled my T250 & it soon became obvious the sizes are coded into the second set of digits of the part no.
eg - 02112-06408 is an M6 threaded screw 40mm long
It only seems to hold correct up to & including M8 but often some more information on size is in under "remarks"
I am sure there is more information to be decoded from the part no as any cotter pins follow a similar pattern.
eg 04111-20258 is a cotter pin 2mm diameter 25mm long
Yamaha part no's can also be decoded but the information is arranged slightly differently
eg 92506-06020 is an M6 threaded screw 20mm long (example from YDS7 partsbook)

Possibly because all manufactures had to conform JIS Japanese International Standards?
