so I'd like to know whats in there before I take it apart.
can't find any info on the net.
if any of you have done it please let me know what is what and if possible any pics will be appreciated.

Yes. They are relatively simple but slightly fiddly. Strip it in a well-lit area where if you drop a tiny screw it won't get lost. I had a stiff switch once. It was slightly bent. I stripped it, straightened it and greased it. Worked fine after that.

Here's a tip, John.

Get yourself a largish plastic bag and take the switch apart inside. If anything goes "sprong" it will be contained in the bag and not disappear on the workshop floor for eternity :)

Cheers Geoff
