I have a T500 with a GT front end on it and I wanted the steering damper so I made it fit
The the stud holding the metal plates is a spacer on a M6 bolt as the triple tree has threads ready made.
I machines a new parts to fit the GT triple tree
The top most friction plate is keyed to the center part the knob threads into.
The metal plates are made from stainless washersT500 steering damper on a GT500 front DIY

The machined steel parts are home brew nickel plated to stop rust.
Here is some drawings to take inspiration from.

Looks good.
I thought about doing something like that. But the original T500 damper lock bolt has M8 threads, and I had no idea if the smaller M6 screw would be strong enough.

Thanks!
I think it's plenty strong since there is very little torque on it, we aren't trying to hold a brake plate after all
