GT750 head bolt washer question

Has anyone had any success with replacing the dowty washers on the head bolts with o-rings or drain plug gaskets? And has anyone swapped the lock washers with flat ones? Seems to me that lock washers are unnecessary if the bolts are torqued properly. Finally, is coating the bolts with anti-seize recommended? This enquiring mind wants to know.
