Hello, first post here

Issues with my oil lines. 75' T500. Took them apart expecting to see a spring and ball inside the brass body. Not the case.. Are these not the factory check valves on here?
Attached an image...hope it went through

Thanks in advance!

which end is it? bit hard to tell from the photo, but there aren't any non return valves/check valves on the oilpump end of the oil lines, only the barrel end. well, there's none on my gt250's anyway :D
cheers, dd.

Thanks DD this is the barrel end. Just a very small inner diameter from what I have seen online.. wondering if this is even factory or If I should just replace it. Valves not working well and may not be able to fix it either way

That banjo should split into 2 parts. Hold the banjo end in some soft jaw pliers (or cardboard wrapped) and gently twist the spigot end with another pair - suitably wrapped so it doesn't get chewed. Remantling is the opposite of dismantling, assisted by a gentle 'tap' and without the twisting - make sure the ball & spring go back correctly, or they don't work.
Do the twisting (banjo, not you!!) over a clear table or you'll lose the ball & spring, and it'll be my fault......

Hi guys,

Just for information but there was recent article in Classic Motorcycle Mechanics showing the replacement of check valves on a Kawasaki. The Kawa valves can be used on our Suzuki's too.

Cheers Geoff

Remember that the similar banjo 'valves' on the SRIS system work the opposite way - the oil flow is FROM the banjo, so they can't be used on the pump lines unless stripped and rebuilt so the spring is between the ball and banjo.

Hi Geoff,

Can you recall which issue of Classic Motorcycle Mechanics the article was in about servicing Kawasaki check valves?

Cheers
