I'm currently on B7s on the 550J, but they'll be changed to 8s for the next run as I've done about 400 miles now since the rebuild and can now open up to 7k rpm.
The 550A is on 8s as it tends to go 'a bit quicker', is on SCEM bores and revs tend to be higher most of the time.
The 750B is on 7s but rarely goes above 5.5k rpm.

Might just be getting used to the pleasures of a 'new' lady. Be gentle and enjoy her.
Just like a real woman, they are all individual and you need to get to know them.
If you don't treat them right, they'll (figuratively) kick you in the nuts and pocket!!

When I top up the oil tank, I put the current mileage on a bit if tape near the tank and measure the amount of oil the bike has used from the last top up. I can then work out miles per litre and I know how the bike is being lubed. Yes, it's pedantic, but I like to know how things are. Current fuel consumption on th 550J is 52-55 mpg and I don't hang about. The 550A does a lot less, but gets spanked regularly!!

Good idea on oil use .im still only getting 100 miles from tank of fuel plus 10 more on reserve if i risk it.i used 2 ltrs of 2 stroke in 1200 miles so 600 to the ltr ish.im using her harder now but trying to get a mix of riding that doesnt clog her up but doesnt over stress her.

Battle.
Bloody hell, worked on a site there back in 1990 the week before I was made redundant. Great memories.....
Mind you after that I worked in places from Kiev, EU, Jo'burg, UAE, and others afterwards until I eventually retired in December 2015.
Best days' work I ever stopped doing!!
Since Retirement I've often wondered how the hell I ever had time for 'work'. A word that is now quite offensive...
Tried it again last year for a mate as there doesn't seem to be capable technicians about nowadays, but now - I care not. The woke generation will eventually have to learn that (figuratively) you can't lay bricks with a smartphone. Oh dear, never mind.
