Removal of plastic fittings on 1975 Gt380 carburetor

Post by 1ofthesedays »

Is there a way to remove plastic fittings without breaking, then able to transfer to another carb. End broke off on one carb. Or are these available some where? Would add pics it I could figure out how. Thanks for your help.

What sort of plastic fittings? And which bike - the 380?
Lots of parts on ebay or Baz restores carbs, so has parts to buy.

Thanks Alan, The bike is the 380. There are three carbs are attached to a single plate that incorporates the throttle linkage. The plastic fittings are located approximately, the middle of carb body to attach lines to outside carbs. One end into carb and two the attach to hoses. Hope the helps. Really do not know the purpose as of yet. Thanks again

You can’t post pics here.
Join a photo sharing site like flickr.com, posts photos there, and provide links to those photos here.

A set of those carbs is for sale on eBay. The pics show the plastic part.

Some four strokes use a part that looks somewhat like the GT380 part.
A pic of a GT380 carb with the plastic part removed would make it easier for us to come up with suggestions.
If you already have the replacement carb, a pic of that part of the carb would help.

You actually can post pics as suggested, or use the 'attachments' function under the bit you type in when starting a thread or replying to one. Just click on 'attachments' and find the location on your device as instructed, or drag & drop the pics into the text box you've been typing in.
You can post up to 3 pics per reply, total of 1 mbyte iirc.
If you use a picture sharing site though, you can post better pics and more of them.

Unfortunately the url is wrong (there's an extra 'htt' in front) and I can't get rid of it, but when I copied the post, the link works and asks for personal information, so really it's unusable if the potential viewer likes their privacy!!
If you use something like 'Paint' to crop a picture and then save it as a .jpg file, it works fine on here.
Trouble with modern phones, the photo resolution is very high, so the picture file size is huge. It has to be less than 1 mb to be usable here.

Steps: Flickr click the “Share” arrow, select “BBCode” & paste into your post. Do not use the website option to insert a pic.
