Hi people

I have a 1975 gt550 that im changing starter clutch in. It already had a borg warner type but it was wore out, i got a new borg warner type and put it in, however i see this is a bit wider than the old one, and now i cant use the locking ring that held the old one in its place. Im not sure it matters tho since the new one is wide enough so there isnt any play in and out and everything seems to rotate fine when i thightened the clutch housing back on.
However im unsure if its ment to be like this, so i figured i ask before i put the clutch cover back on.

Anyone encountered this before?

There are two types of BW unit, you appear to have the wrong one. Without the circlip, it can come out.
I can't remember the dimensions (thickness) offhand.

The two widths. If you are looking for the thinner one then you can buy one here in UK from here

And they work fine as I've got one of Kev's in each of my 550s.
