I have a 1972 TS185 just got all the parts back from the powdercoater and need to put the vin tag back on. I believe the vin tag original used drive screws. I checked my pop rivets and 1/8 is way too big. I can't find anything online about the specific size of hardware to use. Does any one have an insight?

I am looking to get my frame powder coated soon. It it recommended to take off the tag?

yes, for several reasons. a] the frame will need blasting before powdercoating, not recommended on a thin aluminium tag. b] if it stays on it will get powdercoated c] underneath the tag won't get powdercoated d] water has been known to sit in the space behind the tag and start rusting the headstock. so, for the sake of a 5 minute job, take it off
cheers, dd.
