G'day
I recently replaced the fork seals on my 76 GT 550 and as the book stated put standard SAE 30 motor oil in the forks. I don't ride the bike often but after just a few rides the fork seals are starting to leak pretty bad, the left hand more then the right. I'm wondering what's caused this and am suspecting i have used a too heavy oil and possibly wasn't exact enough in the measuring of the oil, ie have put a bit too much in each leg.
Can anyone advise what is a good fork oil to use and good oil weight.
Thanks
Richard.

I use Duckhams 20w50 as recommended by Crooks Suzuki who used it in their production racers. If the correct seals leak, either they are knackered, the legs are knackered, or they aren't fitted correctly.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.
