Lane, That's a novel solution that I had not worked through yet. Thanks for the tip.
All my 34,36 and 38mm carbs have 42/43mm OD outlets which is way smaller than stock BS40's

Also notice on the first pic that I copied the vacuum port from the CV carb, and epoxied it in place. I made the hol in the carb the same size as the original vacuum port . It works great, and they've been this way for about 3 years.

Only if you have an early production 1974. There's a service bulletin about the problem.
Many people believe and claim that their bike sucks more gas than the petcock can provide. I thinik most of them are dreaming. If that were a problem, I'd just put in the largest float valve. The vacuum petcock is fine IMO.
