h4 headlight on a t500?

Post by MikGsxr »

Hi all, got a new headlight for the t500 and it takes a H4 bulb. the smallest i could get was 55/60W. is this going to effect the charging system on the t500? should i upgrade anything else along with it?

thanks

Go to a bike shop that also sells scooters. Not sure if they all do, but some of the scooters use 35/35W or 45/45W H4 bulbs.

Am using a 45/45W H4 on my T500. Have upgraded the electrical system with a modern voltage regulator/rectifier and a maintenance-free AGM battery. Works fine for the type of riding I do.

Modern regulator/rectifiers do a much better job of controlling the voltage. Also are more efficient so you'll get a smidgen more alternator output.

There are several good brands, but I like the tympanum because of how easy it is to install on a T500.
This topic shows how I mounted it:

The tympanum is available via eBay Australia:

Post the link if you are considering a different brand but aren't sure about it.
