Need new rectifier. Suggest replacement for this super old

Cannot find battery leads for the life of me. Pictures?

If you find this topic to be four year old business, just tell me. I'll look in the service manual or just try harder.

Nevermind. Just read the wiring diagram learned that the leads come out of the rectifier. New question. My rectifier is crap and I've known that I've been needing to buy a new one for a while now. To bring this bike into the modern era, what newfangled contraption would you guys suggest?

I was lurking on the forums and read this one guy cut some of the old crap out of the loop and was able to turn the spark from yellow and weak to a blue thing that would jump for the plug. I want that. lol

P.S. - I am a pro with a soldering iron, but I could experience with a voltmeter. I also want to keep the kickstarter for that vintage look, unless they are unreliable.

You can build your own - and I'm sure someone will jump in the the 'how tos' - but for drop in modern replacements I've been very happy with stuff from Oregon Motorcycle Parts.

Ah, wait. The product this guy is listing on his site is for the GTs' & triples'. It says nothing about the regular ole' Titan 500. Is there a big difference in wiring or can I drop one of these rectifiers right in?

For the T500 you can use Oregon Motorcycle Parts rectifier/regulator VRRPM2:

I used a Tympanium rectifier/regulator on my T500. Its available for around $50 on eBay or via local bike shops.
Installs easily without modifying the frame. Just make sure to use a shorter bolt for one of the bolts attaching the battery box.

I am using a rectifier from Radio Shack of all places. I think it was around $5.00. Been working now for three years......

anyone confirm what would be for my 72 380 from oregonmotorcycleparts? VR3-SGT regulator clear states gt triples

The rectifier for your GT380 would be R255-SGT: http://www.oregonmotorcycleparts.com/rectifiers3p.html

VR3-SGT is the voltage regulator for your GT380.
