12V to the coils

Is it worth modifying the part of the electrical circuit that feeds the coils, by running a direct 12V source via a relay?
The purpose of it, would be, to have a fatter spark (and less spark-plugs fouling).
Has anyone done it?

Which bike are you asking about?

The GS-series bikes have a more complicated wiring setup & can have a big voltage drop at the coils. Given the choice of using a relay or going through the wiring connectors & switches to reduce the voltage drop, a lot of owners use a relay.

Yeah, the GS sees 10,3V at the coils; that's why is a best seller mod.
I was thinking of doing it to the RG, and if asked the voltage drop, on her, I'll be able to tell it when I got a new battery.
I was tinking of improving it; I've gone led for the running/stop/tail/blinkers, and I plan to employ relay for the lights (I am undecided whether to use a led light, because of the projector lens not specific to led) so I was curious about other strokers setup.

From what I’ve read, there is a good bit of variation in performance when you replace an H4 halogen bulb with an LED. Some people are satisfied with the results with certain LED bulb brands/designs and find others to provide awful performance.

I’ve only used complete LED replacement headlights & have not tried H4 LED bulbs. Except for the GT550 & GT750, the Suzuki two strokes have dismal headlights. The 25/35W or 35/35W sealed beam headlights on a T250/T350/T500 doesn’t put out much light. There are good LED headlights that use about the same wattage. We had good results with reflector LED headlights on GT250 & GT380 cafe builds. I’m using a really good projector LED headlight on the GT550 cafe build, but that project isn’t done so I have no on-road experience with it.

(Suzuki didn't sell the RG in the US, so I can't offer any suggestions specific to that bike.)
