The 550K that I'm currently doing is almost complete and should be up and running very soon, and the valves will come in very handy for the A model which will be my next project in the new year.
I shall report on the valves when I receive them and when they are fitted to the bike.
Plenty of work to do on the A as you can all see!

Hey Alan,looking forward to a "road test" report on the valves,as Ian points out,it would be nice to hear from a "known" Suzuki Triple Restorer!! Also thanks Ian for the Link,interesting !

Nice one Alan, I can appreciate the effort that must have gone into getting these to market.

Perhaps you could produce an assembly/fitting video and make it available on YouTube to go along with the .pdf instructions (for numtys like me )

well, clearly I was wrong that they don't exist and take my hat of to david as someone who produces parts, but like Ian I am always sceptical of someone who just pops onto the motorcycle scene with no history, and it is as said a part that can kill a multi thousand £ rebuild in short order

In reply to Ian question, the new remanufactured check valves have been produced by a British based company who are specialists in this field and manufacture check valves large and small to many industries which includes the British and European motor industry they also manufacture high quality components for the electronic industry.

The region where I live is close to Birmingham in the UK’s Midlands which is the epicentre of car and car components manufacturing and has a wealth of specialist companies who supply parts to HONDA, TOYOTA, JAGUAR, and LAND ROVER to name a few, the UK last year produced and sold more cars than anytime since the early 70s and this year looks like another record year.

The manufacture of one way check valves is a fairly simple processes to a specialist manufacture and one way valves have been used in many fields over several decades , the new valves have been produced on modern computer controlled CNC milling machines to original spec by taking new old stock valves to reproduce the new ones using modern production methods and up to date quality control of which I’m sure will be far higher than valves produced in the late 60s and early 70s.

The company produced 12 sample valves of which 4 were fitted to my own bike and tested over aprox 1500 miles with no problems and from the 1000 produced a random 8 have been fitted and tested out on the road with again no problems.

I’m confident that the new valves will sort out a long standing problem on our 1970s Suzuki’s, on my own T350 Suzuki rebel I have covered over 8000 miles in just over 2 years with only minor problems but like many others the check valves have been the main source of trouble I even had one fail on a NOS oil line maybe due to being stored in damp conditions for many years who knows ?

I have done my best to bring these new valves to market and to insure that they will give us many more years of good service on our beloved classic Suzuki’s I can do no more than that.

I will be sending Alan H his 6 free check valves early next week which I hope he will fit and give us a honest opinion on them.

Hi,thanks for the info on the valves...wish you every success with them,there is certainly a need for them! I have friends with more than one Suzuki two stroke,one of the GT550's already has the problem of leaking valves,the owner has fitted an "on/off" tap to the line...I'm sure he'll be wanting to replace this with your new valves, I look forward to Alan's report..in the mean time I'll tell people about the availability of the valves,

I'll have a look at the K and see what it will take to fit the new ones to that instead of waiting ages to do the A.
I've got all the cases which hopefully will be on this week and should be getting the rest of the chromework this week too. It'll take a week or two to get it all done, but I'll see what I can do.
I've got some spare pipework so if I can do a swap that'll be easier (maybe - there hasn't been a lot of 'easy' so far!)
I want it tested and registered so I can run it on any fine days in January if at all possible.
Pity I've no details of where it was originally registered or anything - it's an ex-US bike originally built in August 1972 - and imported to the UK in 2011 just in time for me to buy it as a 60th present to myself.
My original 550J was bought in August 1972 as a 21st birthday present to myself - see the pattern forming?
My idea of a 'selfie' is to buy a bike for my birthday!!!!
I had an 'off' in October 1972 after 7 weeks and kept the generator case from the old bike for use 'someday' and hope to use it on one of the restos - sad or what?!?!

Yes Pete, I'm sure GTREINER & Marcel would like to add the valves to their inventory, news from Suzuki GB about a dedicated Vintage Parts Site,newly started with the RGV250 K parts list..to be followed soon by GT750, & early GSXR..models.

But why would David sell to another dealer? The price would increase to customers then.
I reckon they might need a lot more than ONE thousand and best of luck to them if they do.

because people like me who deal with suzuki engines day in day out have a larger customer base, not all customers want too do the work, and specialsist probably have far more contacts
