a bit more progress..........
still undecided about the final colour scheme - I've narrowed it down to either yellow (with blue graphics, not red)..........
or black, with blue graphics.............

Re: Suzuki TDRGV 250
Another trip to the coaters to collect the black coated parts today.
Top triple clamp, handlebar clamps (they were anodised blue - aaagh!) and instrument panel........
lower triple clamp with indicator brackets and headlamp fairing lower bracket in situ......
all the other parts I collected can't be fitted until the front forks and rear shock are returned from being re-sprung / re-valved / shortened.

Re: Suzuki TDRGV 250
More front end work - the new Henry / Reed Contour Pro-Taper fat bars arrived yesterday, so time to fit those, the newly coated clamps and the VJ23 instrument pod.
Also added the NOS (from my Bimota spares stash) Brembo front master cylinder, the kill switch and a throttle housing (awaiting replacement).......
also attached the rear subframe, airbox housing and the reg / rec unit.......

Re: Suzuki TDRGV 250
test fit of the rear wheel (awaiting delivery of the rear disc rotor) so I could make the chainguard brackets and drill the swing arm to accept a couple of Rivnut fasteners.
I am more than happy with the fit and look of the Yamaha TZR250 3MA chain guard

Re: Suzuki TDRGV 250
RMZ equivalent of a hugger - new rear shock protector fitted.........
and the standard seat foam (top) vs lowered seat foam (err - lower)........
I had to remove 97 mini-staples to get the outer and inner covers off - someone obviously enjoyed doing the stapling

Got the forks back today from MH Racing.
Shortened by 50mm, re-sprung and re-valved for road use, new bushes, seals and oil.

Re: Suzuki TDRGV 250
I've been studying pics of the TDR250 and noticed that it has a little fly screen attached atop the head lamp fairing.
Mine hasn't, and nobody makes one for the DRZ400 fairing I have chosen to use. So I needed to make one.
Had a mooch around my garage, contemplated using an old helmet visor but discarded that idea.
Then I came across a fly screen for a GSX750 / 1000 / 1100 Katana that I was going to use on my Kettle / Kat project but have since bought a new one for.
So, nothing ventured, nothing gained, into the vice and apply some heat.........
result? one slightly flattened and charred screen..........
a few tweaks here and there and............
just the silver paint to remove and give it a good polish and that should do

Re: Suzuki TDRGV 250
front mudguard sorted at last.
48mm steering damper clamp (1 each side)..........
make a pair of brackets..........
tidy them up...........
attach to clamp - upper bolt acts as a locating peg, securing bolt screws in from underneath............
attach mudguard (new stainless button head bolts on order).........
