here's the next guest in the rebuild room. a 1964 m12.
thanks to jeff g for the piston. now that it runs i can start the defuglification(tm) process.
i'm not a fan of buckhorn handlebars or the blue that they came in, so it's getting converted to the m12s sport50.
this is a k(80) with the front frame downtube but otherwise the same.

The M12 are sweet bikes. My dad still has his M12. He baught it new in 65 and was one of the first Suzukies ever to come to Norway. It still runs great and it was the bike I learnd to ride on. They are quick being this small, but my weight now is noticeable.
Good luck in your restoration. Looking forward seeing pictures of the progress.
Here's my dads M12. A little faded but in very nice original condition.

Way to go, Dennis!!!! I believe I even have a paper parts book for the M12's/M15's if you need help with part numbers and/or illustrations.
Unfortunately I'm in Winterpeg on my annual Christmas "tour" until after the New Year so I can't check to see exactly which models are in the book. PM or email me after the New Year if you need any info and we'll sort it out then. I hope your project turns out as nice as your "example" pic.

the m12 is going back together now. the biggest hurdle so far has been the handlebar.
the bar is 19mm which was easily remedied at the steel mart, but the throttle is a sliding cable pull with an internal thread on the twist grip that required a slot in the bar.
this setup gives the bars a clean look as the throttle cable(and switch wiring) runs inside the handle bar.
the next hurdle is the cabling. the straight bars leave about ten spare inches of cable so i am going to make a set of suitable length.
i've never made cables so i started by making a tester replacement front brake cable on my t250. i can't break it with a full two hand pull on the lever.
i seem to leave something behind at work every night and get stalled on the assembly.
here is the progress so far.

Johnny, I'm truly sorry you don't have more room to work. I've always been in that position myself, but FORTUNATELY I have a new house WITH A 20X24 FOOT shop!!!!!!

If you stroke it more than twice; you're playing with it.
