Hi really appreciate your replies . I’m still working on it and will let everyone know how it goes. ......well cleaned carb in ultrasonic again etc , blew jets out ,replace pilot again .

My son's T500 ran away on us a couple weeks ago...scary, huh? Ended up cutting fuel (manual tap) and it ran out pretty quick, thankfully. The run-away on his bike was due to poor cable routing through the frame right above the slides. The cables came straight up out of their caps, but we had routed them at a low angle out of the caps to get under a cross brace on the frame. When we turned the handlebars it pulled the slides up and they stuck. We pulled the tank and re-routed the cables in a more straight line down into the carbs and re-adjusted the slack in the cable. Has worked great ever since.

Hi all, been checking and def found some air leaking in via carb rubbers , even tho they are new .
Just wondered if the crank seals could be leaking causing a weak mixture ?
Also can the outer crank seals be replaced in situ or is it a complete engine strip down and reassemble ?

Thanks for info on cable routing .Think mine is routed as you described so I’ll reroute just in case , although it seems to be free and not sticking at all.

Hi there, Yes the outer crank seals can be replaced with the engine in situ. Do it carefully though, and genuine Suzuki seals are recommended over pattern.

it was still screaming after disconnecting because it was using the fuel in the lines and the carbs,it would have eventually died.l would take off air cleaner and check with fingers that slides are not sticking.turn handlebars with fingers in and feel if anything moves.if it does must be cable routing,when replacing carb parts always use Mikuni,

Hi I’ve put carb ( that I’ve cleaned I ultrasonic for third time ) back on. Running nice now , I actually road it around where I live for first time . I’ll be doing spark plug checks for a while in case of a weak mixture. Thanks for all help and advice .
