Welcome and do have a look around, I'm always putting up photos of some gauges under restoration that I'm working on, or various bike related parts that have been restored.

Hi Allan,

When it comes to the refurbishment and restoration of gauges you are undoubtedly one of the best in the business

Hi Allan,
any suggestions for clearing up the opaqe, yellowed lenses on my gt380?
I assume disassembly is for pros only, not peons like me.
Thanks!

You can replace them. I put glass ones on my GT380. It takes a lot of care and skill to get the old ones out without fudging up your cases.

For the discoloured acrylic lenses, glass is the best option, BUT there's only one way to do it correctly on the white cased gauges used on the GT250,380, 500 and 550.

Where can the glass be sourced from?

I just replaced the thick plastic non original faces on my GT550 gauges, I followed some ones suggestion on using camera lens covers, they fitted perfectly and I'm really pleased with them. I would upload photos if I knew how.

^^^Great to see folk taking the challenge and doing their own resto work 8)

I'm about to start doing my own gauges and it will cost about 1/3 of what some of these "gauge restorers" are asking, If you have any tools and equipment and are any good with your hands it's an opportunity to save some cash that can be spent elsewhere on parts 8)

Sent you a PM. I can post them up for you if you’d like. I’d love to see them also!

I replaced the fogged up lenses on my 380 with clock face glass it has a nice curve in it so the needles dont touch the flat glass . I bought them from a place called its about time in the U S A . the diameter is 82mm
