DO NOT BUY this Cobra
This guy is a flipper, buys bikes locally and haggles hard time for them, then flips them on ebay without doing a single thing to them:

At least his eBay ad looks honest, which is more than can be said for some eBay sellers.

Re: DO NOT BUY this Cobra
Are you being a bit harsh evo? I have bought a lot of bikes, and a lot more cars, to sell on for a profit. I never held a gun to a seller's or buyer's head, and I imagine this guy is the same.
Buying is as hard or probably harder than selling in my opinion, a lot of it, is having the confidence to negotiate the price you want to pay. I like to think that in the thousands of vehicles I have bought to sell on over the years, I never offended anybody with my negotiating. At the end of the day, pretty much every item or service we buy, represents a profit for somebody, so why not classic bikes?

Re: DO NOT BUY this Cobra
Sorry TP,
We are going to disagree on this one.
I'm still pretty young and I started riding 60's motorcycles when I was 16. I'm tired of going to motorcycle shows and swap meets and having everyone be male and 65+. Therefore I try to do a lot to get new blood into the vintage bike riding scene and I will always treat this as a hobby, not as a business.
Fixing, restoring, improving, building parts and supplying parts, these are all things i think have value and should be compensated appropriately. Finding something in someone's barn and selling it without doing a damn thing to it, isn't something that i think should be rewarded. If this joker is going to post up a story about every person he makes a mint off of, then i think it just going to show how selfish and greedy he his.
but, YMMV.
(also $2750 for that cobra seems a little high for the states)

Re: DO NOT BUY this Cobra
I see that it is now 2350 or best offer, seems pretty fair to me.
I hate to be the one to point it out, but the majority of the sellers on FEEBAY are resellers looking to make a profit.
I understand your feelings about wanting to have younger guys involved with these old 60s and 70s, I think it is really cool. You have to keep in mind that many of the older guys are interested because they either had one back in the day or maybe didn't and would like one now. This is why many items from the 60s and 70s are going for good prices right now, be it toys, guitars or motorcycles etc.

Try reading this thread too:
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=772319" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Brags about how he gets a kawi triple seller down to $600, then lists it on ebay immediately and sells it for over $3k without any work or changes.
Luckily it goes across the pond to the best kawi restorer i've ever heard of.
Sounds like our opinions will differ on this one. I've been on/off this board for about 10 years and over that time I've greatly appreciated the individuals here that found great deals and passed them on to the rest of us, which I believe has helped me stay on the road.

Re: DO NOT BUY this Cobra
At the end of the day, we are all different, and have different ideas and values. Neither making a profit, or having a profit made out of me, offends me at all. But I would certainly agree with you Evo, that to openly brag about it, is offensive, and in poor taste.
