$1600 is where my project started....and I've got plenty that needs attention, that will take the final figure way past that....
But that's why they are projects.... The cheep buy in, not thinking how long the game will actualy take.

Instead of rebuilding the old broken transmission engine i got a replacement off ebay for 850$ , the rear rotor was well worn out as it looked like the PO didnt like useing the front brakes , the front rotors are in great shape . It doesnt look like a stock rear rotor but i happened to have a rear rotor from a 2004 GSXR and it fit right on . When pulling apart the rims for bearing change and cleanup all but 2 of the rotor bolts came out easy .. those last 2 bolts refused to come out even after repeated heat and oil soak . I ended up drilling off the heads to get the rotor off and then figured i could apply more heat and oil and grab onto the remaining stud with vice grips and spin them out .. NOT .. they still refused to come out . I was going to go the way of welding a nut to the remaining studs before they got twisted off and then had to drill them out , i took the rim to a Midas muffler shop that was near the house figureing they could do a quick weld .. instead they said they they have some great broken stud removers and they would give them a shot . After about 10 mins they come back in with the rim .. no stuck bolts left and they only charged me 10$ . Next problem was no keys so while the top triple was off complete with the ignition switch i took it to a local lock shop and they set me up with 2 keys for under 30$ .. another bargain . New brake pads and wheel bearings have these items spinning and stopping nicely .

After this picture i put the front foot pegs on and of course i had to take a trial sit to get a feel for the new ( to me ) machine .. dang do i sit low in the frame .. my knee's are level with the valve covers

The other night i decided it was time to open the carb bowls up to see what they looked like inside . I had them filled with Seafoam , i was happy to see them quite clean inside but when i checked the needles i couldnt believe how messed up they are .. deep cuts in them where the slides sit at idle and pitting in them where the slides would have been at higher RPMs ( throttle ) there must have been some miles on the broken engine that came with the bike .. the speedo shows 32,000 ??

What you need is a set of Slingshot carbs which I happen to have. The 1100 used to use large carbs on some years IIRC, so you would have to check what size you need. Or is it time to fit a set of 40mm R1 throttle bodies and go EFI?

i wish i had been slower on the repair for once but i jumped on the net and ordered up a jet kit with new needles .. i bet the Slingshot carbs would be sweet though I have never seen needles as messed up as these are . Dang it .. got the jet kit and it wasnt the one shown on ebay ( but was in the fine print ) no needles looking closer the needle jets and the jet needles are shot thats over 200$ in parts off Bike Bandit .

After some checking around for best price with online parts i settled on Cheap Cycle Parts http://www.cheapcycleparts.com/?gclid=C ... 4Aod1U4AxQ" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; where i purchased the 4 needles and 4 new needle jets for 129+10 shipping and that was the best price i found . Now wait for those parts to finish rebuilding the carbs .. set the floats and fit them on the engine

Got some time on a rainy afternoon to put these new carb parts in and was glad i did this work as the carbs looked very clean outside ad the bowls inside were sparkling clean but WOW were the needle jets filthy when i removed them .. black gook and many plugged air bleed holes .This is a very good lesson to those that say they cleaned there carbs real good but the engine still runs bad .. if you didnt pull and clean the needle jets and check the O rings on your CV GT750 you should .
