MotoGP (Spoiler)

Post by Zook-e »

Wow. What a good race for a change. Way to go Rossi. Glad to see the fire in him again, even if in the rain. Hope they can turn the duck(turd) around. Bad deal about The Ben. Hope he can find out what is wrong. Bike, head, mechanics. He needs to get back out front to keep the ride, unless no one is saying what is really wrong. Whatever I hope he finds his MOJO.

Thoroughly enjoyed that one !
As you say Eric, good to see Vale up the sharp end again. It would be nice to see him do the same in the dry.

If you haven't seen it....look out for the second WSB race from Donnington Park in the UK last weekend.......what a scrap !

Maybe just a little bit. :( Haslam seems to have took it in stride as a "that's racing" incident. Good on him. BSB is always like that and he had nothing against Rea. Though he said he did miss the 24 points. :D

I agree with you, that Haslam appeared to take it all very well considering he had done nothing wrong, and got punted off from a winning position. I watched it over and over to try and work out who was to blame.....and at first put it down to Rea. However, on reflection, I think that
"racing incident" was probably the fairest verdict. Melandri took a massive lunge from way back, which was never going to work and therefore he went straight on up the inside of Haslam........at first I thought this had no effect on the accident, but looking closer, you can see Haslam pick his bike up for just a split second as Melandri passes him on the inside. It really is a tiny almost invisible adjustment he makes, but it's enough to change his line from hugging the kerb, to running just a yard or so wide. Naturally, when Rea saw that gap, he was going to put himself in it, and as he was running in a tiny bit hot, ie. not on the kerb, he clatters the unlucky Haslam.
I'm just a biker who enjoys watching racing, but I can imagine how the adrenilin must be coursing through you on the last bend of such a close race, and I'm sure I would have done exactly the same.
