Snapped GT500 brake caliper bleed valve

Post by CumbriaSuzuki »

I've tried drilliing the remains out with a left handed drill but I think I've gone too far and probably knackered the valve seat.
So I thought I'd try and get a replacement caliper instead but when I've searched specifically for GT500 calipers they seem pretty thin on the ground. There's a couple on ebay US for the GT550, does anyone know if they shared a common caliper as they look very similar?

1975 to 1977 GT250, GT380, GT500, GT550, GT750 (Right Hand) all use the same caliper, part no. 59100-33111.
Or you could just drill and tap the hole and put in a pipe plug until you can find a replacement caliper.
Cliff.

Cheers for that Cliff. Gives me plenty of options.

Hey Pedro, if you've got one in good order at a reasonable price, I'd love to buy it off you
I was only quoting Ebay US as reference as there wasn't any on the UK ebay. I hate paying for massive shipping costs.

If the bleed valve is still fluid-tight you could fit a bleed-bolt on the fixing for the hydraulic line. You can order them from accessory catalogues, it's essentially a new bolt to secure the hydraulic line, which has a bleed screw built in.
