GT185 4mm oversize piston

Post by Vintageman »

I have seen a few times from two separate venders on eBay offered a 4mm oversize piston for a GT185, They seam to be selling too.

Has any had any experience with this bigger bore piston?

Thanks

Maybe I need to be patient on a reply.... but I was hoping someone here bought some of those 4mm over GT185 pistons.

How did they work? Did they just fit no worries?

Looking at the OEM head and gasket, the max over is just over 2mm. So if I would go 4mm the gasket and head surface would hang over the cylinder

So it looks like I need to find another gasket and have the head widened some following the squish shape. If I try this piston I would also widen the exhaust port since more area to reduce ring snag

Make sense or bigber bores really don't work?

Thanks
