Carb rebuild kits and jets
It's carb rebuild time for my '75 T500. Anyone know of a US source for quality rebuild kits and jets?

If you're just going for new needles/seats and float bowl gasket, give your local Suzi dealer a try.
Why would you replace the jets ?? Are they wrecked from a previous owner's ham fistedness ??

I need to go up a jet size or two for my expansion chambers. Possibly different filters as well, though I'm inclined to keep the airbox for ease of tuning.H2RICK wrote:If you're just going for new needles/seats and float bowl gasket, give your local Suzi dealer a try.

I was hoping that someone would have a complete rebuild kit, but ordering the individual parts for Suzuki is not a problem.

Hey Wingspan,
Killfile from ADV here, good to see you over here at Sundial.
DO NOT use the Keyster Carb kits, they are complete crap. The only useful part of those kits is the float bowl gasket.

That's actually what prompted this thread. I've read over and over not to use the Keyster kits, but hadn't seen an alternative in a kit form. I just ordered everything I need (hopefully) from Suzuki.evol02 wrote: DO NOT use the Keyster Carb kits, they are complete crap. The only useful part of those kits is the float bowl gasket.

Re: Carb rebuild kits and jets
I used Keyster carb kits on my T350 before reading the "do not use" comments in this forum.
What problems should I expect?
Should I go back and switch out some of the kit parts for Suzuki parts?

Re: Carb rebuild kits and jets
jabcb, the biggest problem with the Keyster kits is the jet needles.....if the kits you bought came with them. Some kits do and some don't.
If yours DID have new jet needles, you would be advised NOT to use them because they are generic and are not really suited to allow proper operation like the stock Mikuni needles do. The profiles on the Keyster needles are all wrong compared to the original Mikuni parts that were specified by Suzuki.
The other problems with Keyster kits are the orifices in the jets, both mains and pilots. The tolerances/accuracy of Keyster's jets are not up to the standards of genuine Mikuni parts. On a single cylinder engine this is obviously not an issue for the most part......but on twins and triples it can be a real pain. Imagine a 5% variance in jet orifice sizes from carb to carb......or even a 1% variance. Keyster's quality control is less than is required for truly accurate carburation, IMO.
