some may know me from the kaw triples forums...but have found a pretty nice 75 t500..ill post up some pics for all..
just wondering what its actually worth...i know its wrong color for the year-and po went a lil nuts w the black paint...
but an honest evaluation is what im looking for...
and a pic of my s2 triple thrown in for a lil more eye candy
supposedly just needed points when i got it..and oil pump put back on ( was premixing it ) and petcock needed vac diaghpram....great compression..good tires..all lights signals work..seat and pan nice
i never tried to start it till i went thru it..so far ive found wrong
left points way out and timed off
carb slides in wrong carbs
vac line from intake was hooked to fuel tap
pulled and cleaned carbs,,,were nice n clean
figured id just start at checking the basics before i even tried to fire it...
im waiting for a box of spares he is sending me that has a good pump and lines im putting back on it..
looks like it was an older resto the guy couldnt get running right.. someone definatly spent some time on it in the past..
hope i have all the parts to fire it later this week...
only thing i may be missing is the oil line end banjo bolts but wont know till i get the box of spares in the mail..
if i need the vac diaphram isnt it still active thru suzuki ??
( and ive shined up all the bits..looking sweet all apart...)

Curious Eric, what makes it one of your favorites?
It was the only T500 that I had ever restored to original condition. It did everything well and I traded it for a not so great H2. Wish I still had the 74. Love that color scheme as well. I'll have to scrounge up a pic.

I remember them coming out and fell in love with it but in that same year I gave up biking and bought a car....
I think that's the color mine is suppose to be Johnny, I am working on paint codes and weather this is a candy color.

Maybe poker's not your game, Ike. I know! Let's have a spelling contest~

It is a good thing the PO could not get it running. These engines are designed to be oiled by pump only. NO PRE-MIX unless the outer mains have been modified. Otherwise the pre-mix will not lube the bearings enough and they will fail. The diaphragm is NLA, either convert to an aftermarket on-off-reserve petcock or try to find a thin enough rubber sheet and make one. Finding fuel proof rubber is not easy and transferring the center part (it has the O ring) may be difficult too.
