What happened with the con-rod deal? Culp had a few sets of NOS T500 con-rods for sale on ebay. I suspect I was watching the set you won.

I've never dealt with him personally but he seems to be well known in the light aviation world. He imports the Russian M-14 radials for use in replica biplanes and built a high powered Sopwith Pup replica that uses an M-14 radial.

He's got a website here:

http://www.culpsspecialties.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So what happened and what was wrong with the con-rods he sold you?

After reading this post for the second time, first time couldn’t believe what I was reading!!! As any good Britt I feel that our American friends on the board should stand up and support Pete in this dispute. This Steve Culp is a disgrace to all Americans.

All insults and mud slinging aside, I still see the real problem here has not been resolved, you got the WRONG rods.

Dear culpspecial73gx,

I have recieved the con rods and they are NOT T500 rods, thus far I only see you as dishonest as it is blatently obvious these are not T500 rods, clearly although you have built some T500 you have no real knowledge of them.

As this is totally your fault I would expect reimbursement of return postage

Yours disgusted

That was the first thing I noticed, how you treat someone and the first email speaks volumes. Making accusations right off the bat is not the way to go.

I understand the wrong product and that should be corrected but you really need to work with people about resolving issues not putting them on the defensive.

Ebay has has defaulted for Powersellers to send a non payment after 4 days, this can be changed but this is the default setting. He needs to change his website regarding the 7 day rule or change his non payment settings.

If I knew I was to be out of town I would have emailed the seller and explain the circumstances.

This being said I would have apologized and corrected the issue but it would be hard because someone called me dishonest and not allowing me a chance to sort out and correct the problem.

The willingness and attitude mean a lot to me.

It's a bad deal and for sure he added to it rather than nip this in the bud and work out a resolution.

What's his email ID?

Pedro, haven't you gotten into similar fights with people ON THIS BOARD over misunderstandings? Somehow I doubt that the fighting is entirely all Culp's fault, but regardless, he should correct his mistake with the parts. A bit more of a diplomatic approach would probably assist you?

As for Culp, he is in northern Louisiana:
It's pretty simple. Just email us at culpspecial@yahoo.com
You can see additional examples of our work at: http://www.culpsspecialties.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

While I would love to have long chats with you about projects underway and those yet to come, I have to pay the mortgage. And the insurance. And the electrical, gas,
DirecTV, phone, Internet, truck note and other bills, so chat time is scarce.

However, I make a real effort to check email every day and will get back to you as soon as I can. My shop number is 318-222-0850 and it is still answered by that strange robotic voice. Remember, email will be answered first!

I am prone to having a similar email manner to you Pedro and have since learnt that it never ends well and usually makes the whole thing sourer.

Ultimately you should have gotten the correct rods and the guy is certainly a douche bag but I don't think you helped your own cause much. :lol:
